Not only is there some great juxtaposition in this episode visually (the height difference between Danny/Jeremy on the elevator, Danny sweaty and Jeremy cool and collected), there is a heavy theme of envy that exists between the two. I guess that if we’re going to, y'know, over analyze, you could say that Danny’s insecurities come out in this episode. I love this, because I’ve always felt that what happens in “Danny Castellano” is a huge stepping stone for Danny and Mindy and reasonably makes sense coming before “In the Club”, when he asks her for a drink in a very noncommittal way. I had always known that there was some hocus-pocus with the airing, but the list that I found confirmed something I wanted confirmed for a long time: “Danny Castellano is My Gynecologist” was episode 1x03, while “In the Club” was 1x04 and “Halloween” was 1x05. While I was perusing I came across what is supposed to be the “correct” airing of the Mindy Project episodes. And there were a lot of car rides on this out of town time, which gave me a lot of time to go on Tumblr and see if anyone had made a “Midnight City” video yet read more about The Mindy Project, which I love.
